Netflix execs have addressed streaming issues during the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight.

The streaming service announced on Saturday that 60 million people watched for its heavily anticipated fight between the two boxers at AT&T Stadium.

“60 million households around the world tuned in live to watch Paul vs. Tyson! The boxing mega-event dominated social media, shattered records, and even had our buffering systems on the ropes,” Netflix announced on Saturday via X.

But lots of fans criticised the broadcast, claiming that their stream froze or crashed.

“Netflix can’t handle the traffic and the stream is unwatchable,” one X user complained.

“Netflix is melting down with the Tyson Paul fight. Glitchy AF,” another viewer complained. “Probably should have done some stress tests before the biggest live stream they’ve ever had.”

“Netflix seems to have botched this Jake Paul / Mike Tyson live stream. Tons of buffering issues and crashes being reported,” a third person wrote.

Following the complaints, Netflix CTO Elizabeth Stone wrote to employees about the issues. “This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers,” according to Bloomberg.

“I’m sure many of you have seen the chatter in the press and on social media about the quality issues.

“We don’t want to dismiss the poor experience of some members, and know we have room for improvement, but still consider this event a huge success.”

UNILAD has contacted Netflix for comment.

Jake Paul took to social media to issue a statement after defeating Mike Tyson.

The two boxing stars went head-to-head in Texas last night (November 15) and successfully lasted for all eight rounds.

In light of neither being knocked out, the winner was chosen by the judges based on points, with Paul going on to win by a landslide.

In statistics shared after the fight, it was said that Tyson, 58, only landed 18 shots while Paul made a successful 78 blows to the sports champ.

In the wake of his victory, Paul has taken to Twitter to share a series of thank yous - including to Tyson.

One of his posts read: "Thank you to every fighter on the card last night, thank u Netflix, thank u Jerry Jones, thank u to my MVP team, thank u to the legend Mike Tyson for giving me a chance to share the ring with him, thank u to my family and close circle of friends..and above all, thank you God."
