Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke had a good run as the stars of Netflix's Top 10 list, but it's now time for them to Leave The World (of number one) Behind.

It's a highly-anticipated new movie that has managed to knock Netflix's popular thriller off its pedestal after weeks of success, during which viewers flooded to watch Hawke and Roberts as reality unravelled around them.

Leave The World Behind has been praised by fans for its gripping storyline and subtle, clever details, which worked to earn the film a positive score of 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie served Netflix users well as we slow down and prepare for the end of the year, but with the festive season well and truly upon us, it looks like film fans are looking for something a bit more cheery and family-friendly to keep them entertained.

There are a lot of Christmas films that might fit this description, but it's not a festive flick that's shot up Netflix's Top 10 list.

Instead, it's a film about chicken nuggets. Or, more specifically, chickens who don't want to become nuggets.

The long-awaited sequel is finally here.
Netflix

That's right - it's the long-awaited sequel to Chicken Run which is catching Netflix users' attention this week, and with good reason.

The bright, colorful family flick comes more than two decades after the original, with a lot of fans likely to be introducing the feathered characters to new generations for the first time.

The film stars Zachary Levi, Thandiwe Newton and Bella Ramsey, and follows the story of the chickens as they rush to save a young chick from a factory producing chicken nuggets.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget has already reached the Number 1 spot on Netflix in the UK, and Leave The World Behind better watch out as it's creeping up the list in the US, too.

Netflix isn't the only place that the new Chicken Run is beating Leave The World Behind, either.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the animated film has scored 79 percent on the Tomatometer, and a strong Audience Score of 83 percent.

Those who have already watched the film are also singing its praises on X, where one viewer wrote: "Netflix impressions: Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget - Amazing sequel is amazing."

The satisfied viewer continued: "The prison break story is top notch, but the animation is sublime. The expression of several characters is so subtle you'd swear it's CGI and not stop motion. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

It definitely sounds like Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is worthy of the Number 1 title, but you can find out for yourself on Netflix now.
