
Netflix viewers have been embroiled in a debate on social media after somebody asked for recommendations on the 'best Netflix series of 2025'.
Now, the streaming platform has released some bangers over the last six months, so it makes sense that people would be divided over their favorite.
But, there were some shows that continuously cropped up among users, with heaps of people on the Netflix Bangers Facebook group voting for the likes of Forever and Dept Q.

Sirens
It's been dominating the top spot on Netflix, so it makes sense that Sirens would be a popular suggestion for the 'best show of 2025'.
Created and executive produced by Molly Smith Metzler (Maid), the mini-series stars Julianne Moore (Still Alice), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus) and Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon).

The story centers around Devon (Fahy) who tries to reconnect with her younger sister Simone (Alcock), but finds her sister's alluring boss Michaela (Moore) gets in her way. But will Devon be able to open Simone's eyes and pry her away from the luxurious life she's been enticed into?
Forever
It's the show that's had people begging for a second season, thanks to its addictive plot and brilliant acting.

The story follows two Black high schoolers, Keisha (played by Lovie Simone) and Justin (played by Michael Cooper Jr.), who fall in love and have to navigate their intimacy through social and parental pressures.
Keisha and Justin have plenty of ups and downs - including struggling to navigate heading off to different colleges - but viewers were left rooting for them all the way through.
The show is based on a romantic novel written by bestselling young adult author Judy Blume and it's received a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Adolescence
Adolescence amassed a huge 66.3 million views within its first two weeks, setting a new record for the most-watched limited series on Netflix during that period.

By early April, the series had reached 96.7 million views, placing it ninth on Netflix's all-time most popular English-language TV list, ahead of titles like Stranger Things season three and Bridgerton season two.
The show sees 13-year-old Jamie Miller (played by Owen Cooper) arrested and accused of murdering a girl from his school.
SAG Award-winning actor Stephen Graham stars as Jamie's dad, Eddie, who faces the difficult question of whether his parenting contributed to Jamie's alleged actions.
Incredibly, each episode of the series was shot in one take.
Ginny & Georgia
The third season of Ginny & Georgia recently dropped on Netflix, two years on from the release of the second season.

And fans are super happy to see its return, with many voting it as the best series of 2025.
The show tells the story of a woman named Georgia who moves to an affluent suburb with her two kids, Ginny and Austin.
It follows the dynamics between Ginny and Georgia - who are only 15 years apart in age - and the obstacles they face as they navigate their fresh start, following Georgia's troubled past.

Dept Q
Dept Q focuses on a cold case department being set up within a Scottish police force and has been created by Scott Frank - the mastermind behind The Queen’s Gambit.

A remake of a Danish book series, it stars the likes of Matthew Goode, Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne, and Kate Dickie.
After landing on Netflix last month, many fans have flocked to social media to praise the 'superb' series.
"Dept Q, one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. It is excellent!!!!" one viewer penned on the 'Netflix Bangers' Facebook page.
Over on Twitter, another added: "Watching a superb series on Netflix called Dept Q. Great acting, writing and story, a lot of humour. Starts a bit dour but really develops in to a binge watch. If you haven’t seen it I’d give it a try. If you hate it, it wasn’t me."
