Viewers have been left disgusted after watching Netflix’s ‘vile’ new true-crime docuseries The Most Hated Man on the Internet.

The new series centres on the real-life story of Hunter Moore - the self-titled ‘king of revenge porn’ - who set up and ran IsAnyoneUp, a website dedicated to sharing nude and explicit images of people without their consent back in the early 2010s.

The Most Hated Man on the Internet features interviews with people who had their images shared by Moore, as well as clips from the website creator himself and law enforcement agents who worked on the case.

A synopsis from Netflix reads: “Determined to remove her daughter's photos from a revenge porn website, a persistent mother launches an online crusade to shut down its cruel founder.”

The series, which comes from the creators of Don’t F**k With Cats and the Tinder Swindler, landed on Netflix today and some viewers have already binge-watched the three episodes and have been left reeling over what they saw.

Posting on Twitter, one said: “Unusual to see a documentary about someone with NO redeeming features at all but The Most Hated Man On The Internet on @netflix is most certainly that! Hunter Moore really is the lowest of the low, but good on @CharlotteLaws for not giving in.”

Hunter Moore described himself as the 'king of revenge porn'.

Another wrote: “Watching The Most Hated Man on the Internet and, bro. The s**t people used to glorify in the early 2000s/2010s version of the internet. So gross.”

Someone else posted: “I’m watching The Most Hated Man on the Internet on Netflix and this man is actually vile. It’s so sick how, not that long ago, victim blaming was so normal.”

While a fourth commented: “Watching The Most Hated Man on the Internet and it genuinely makes me so sad to see how normalised these disgusting behaviours were. To completely and utterly violate a woman’s personal images and information for the masochistic entertainment of belligerent men.”

Viewers have been left disgusted by the docu-series.

Alex Marengo, who worked as an executive producer on the series, said he 'immediately' knew the story of the fight against Moore's website could make an 'utterly compelling series', describing it as a 'crusade for justice against all the odds wrapped up in a world of real-life and online depravity'.

"Some revelled in it, others had their lives ruined," he continued. "I am so proud of our uniquely talented team who turned the lens onto Hunter Moore and turned his victims into the ultimate winners by giving them their voices, silenced until now. It’s incredibly exciting to know that this important story for our times will reach a global audience when it debuts on Netflix.”

The Most Hated Man on the Internet is available to stream on Netflix now.
