Kevin Feige says they're officially working on a fourth Spider-Man film

Tom Holland previously said we would be seeing a 'very different version' of the superhero after No Way Home.

Marvel is officially developing a fourth Spider-Man film.

Studio boss Kevin Feige has given a lengthy interview with Entertainment Weekly about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's safe to say there is a lot going on.

With Phase 5 getting underway, the roadmap for the big and small screen is starting to take shape.

There are loads of movies in the works and Feige says they will space out some of their TV shows to give everyone a chance to breathe.

However, it was the question on Spider-Man that has everyone talking.

Feige was asked about the future of Peter Parker and his superhero alter ego and the Marvel boss had to stay tight lipped.

What he did say was: "We have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now."

It's not much, but we'll take it.

We don't yet know what Phase Spider-Man 4 will swing into and it's very unclear what it will look like.

At the end of No Way Home, which was released at the end of 2021, Tom Holland's character gets wiped from everyone's memory thanks to a spell from Dr Strange.

How he is meant to navigate this new world where no one knows who he is could pave the way for a brand new Spider-Man narrative.

Holland also told us that No Way Home was meant to be the end of his chapter.

He told Entertainment Weekly two years ago: “We were all treating [No Way Home] as the end of a franchise, let’s say.

“I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you’d be seeing a very different version.

"It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films.

"Whether that happens or not, I don’t know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it.”

What everyone would love to know is if Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield can team up again for another fun-filled adventure together to defeat villains in New York.

But, until Kevin Feige gives us any more tidbits for the fourth instalment, we'll just have to keep guessing about what Marvel is going to give us next.
