Kate Beckinsale praises Keanu Reeves for saving her from massive wardrobe malfunction at Cannes

If it wasn't for Keanu Reeves, Kate Beckinsale has said she would have had a pretty bad wardrobe malfunction at Cannes in 1993.

There is no questioning Keanu Reeves is one of the greatest - and nicest - actors in the whole of Hollywood.

Mr John Wick himself is truly adored by fans and his talents are not just limited to acting, with Reeves recently reuniting with his old band for a live performance.

But while he may be a pretty talented bloke, many of his colleagues have also commented over the years on what just a generally nice guy he is.

Reeves is known for making secret donations to children's hospitals, and lets not forget the viral video of him giving up his seat on the NYC subway.

And now, Kate Beckinsale has given further evidence that proves Reeves is surely the nicest actor in Hollywood.

The 49-year-old returned to the 2023 Cannes Film Festival where she attended many events, including the annual amfAR charity gala.

The Underworld star first attended Cannes in 1993 for the premiere of Much Ado About Nothing, with Beckinsale discovering a photo herself on the red carpet that day thanks to her mom.

In a recent Instagram post, Beckinsale revealed her co-star Reeves actually saved her from a huge wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet.

She started the post with: "So my mum DID find one of the original Cannes pictures but unfortunately it’s not full length so you can’t see the Dr Martens."

She then added: "I had bought the bodysuit in the Sock Shop at the airport and when I got in the car to drive to the premiere with Denzel and Pauletta Washington, all the poppers in the crotch popped themselves open and it flipped up like a roller blind.

"I didn’t feel it was appropriate to go delving around in my undercarriage with all of us in the back of the car so I just quietly panicked."

The actor continued: "I walked out onto the biggest red carpet of my life and whispered to Keanu and Robert Sean Leonard what had happened.

"In this picture I am holding the front gusset down and the two of them are holding the back gusset.

"Absolute legends who may not even have fully understood the physics of what was happening or even heard the word ‘gusset’ before but both jumped in to save me no questions asked."

The comments come off the back of a rather impressive year for Reeves, who recently headlined in John Wick: Chapter 4 which propelled the franchise into the billion-dollar mark at the global box office.

The latest John Wick adventure also reviewed pretty well, too - with a 94 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
