Julia Roberts made a ridiculous $2.8 million a minute for a cameo movie role after reportedly negotiating a special deal.

Her extended cameo role in Valentine's Day (2010) alongside Bradley Cooper is perhaps one of the most memorable scenes in modern rom com history - but she was certainly well paid for it.

You can check the famous scene out below:

The film follows a series of interconnected stories amongst various Los Angeles residents (Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper).

As the holiday unfolds, we see first dates, longtime commitments, youthful crushes and connections to old flames.

Roberts, who played the role of Captain Kate Hazeltine, only appears in the film for roughly six minutes, yet that was enough for her to earn a reported $8,333 per second of on-screen time or $11,952 per word upfront, according to Vulture.

Warner Bros. Pictures

These figures were part of her instant earning of $3 million upfront from New Line Cinema.

However, Roberts also signed a deal which would enable her to take in three percent of the film's total gross, which brings her total earnings up to a reported $14 million, according to Yahoo.

All in all, she reportedly made roughly $2.8 million a minute.

Warner Bros. Pictures

Despite performing so well at the box office, the film didn't really get the best reviews, certainly not on Rotten Tomatoes.

Is received an underwhelming 18 percent critics' score, with an audience score of 47 percent.

"It tries so hard to capture the magic of films like Love Actually but just stumbles," one critic wrote.

"There's absolutely nothing here you haven't seen before, and some of it is downright insulting," another said.

However, not everyone thought it was so bad, with one person writing: "Works where so many romantic comedies in general fail because it doesn't offer some idealised look at love, but shows the power of it - warts and all - from a variety of perspectives."

Another added: "A melange of stories, some that work, some that don't. Entertaining for what it is, but for little more."

The mega a-list cast features Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Héctor Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Carter Jenkins, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, George Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts, Bryce Robinson and Taylor Swift.
