People are saying 'uncomfortable' iCarly clip should never have been filmed

A scene from iCarly is facing criticism online and being branded by some as 'uncomfortable'.

Prepare to rethink your childhood:

If you were lucky enough to be able to branch out from the classic CBeebies or CBBC and watch Nickelodeon, then you would've had the joy of being able to watch six-season teen sitcom iCarly, created by Dan Schneider.

However, some lucky Nickelodeon watchers are now living to regret their childhood viewing after realising a scene from iCarly contains an ominous innuendo that their 12-year-old mind probably didn't quite realise the significance of.

You may find the sexual innuendos in The Little Mermaid songs funny - go listen again to Sebastian the crab's performance of Under the Sea - but viewers are drawing the line at the treatment of the actors in this iCarly clip.

Carly asks Seth to push the water button fountain for her.

In the clip - recently shared online by TikToker Chris Jones - Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) can be seen asking Seth (Andrew Roy) to help her with the water fountain.

"Do me a favour and press the water fountain button there," she asks.

Carly then squats down, tilts her head up and the stream of water soars into her mouth - Carly giving Seth a thumbs up as it goes.

Some fans have pointed out the 'disturbing' innuendo in the scene.

Jones comments on the video, stating: "Tell me Dan Schneider wrote the scene without specifically telling me he wrote the scene."

Jones continues: "When I was younger I thought that was a clever idea based off what happened the first time because she got water on her shirt [...] so she doesn't get wet again.

"But... it's weird now."

Some viewers have similarly interpreted the scene as containing a sexual innuendo and it's fair to say, they're outraged.

One user said they had always been 'uncomfy' watching iCarly as a child.

One user took to the post to comment: "Dan Snyder forgetting we'd all grow up and realize. And no other adults were opposed to this back then?? Shame shame."

"Remember that scene from Zoey 101 when Zoey got a face shot of a weird goo? Dan Schneider at it again," another wrote.

A third said: "One of the main reasons why I just can't rewatch iCarly. Too much bad stuff has come out about the production and the innuendoes. I just can't."

"Am I the only person disappointed that several of adults are associated with all of this and not just Dan? Like why didn’t they do anything?" a fourth added.

Schneider has previously faced accusations of sexualising young stars.

A final resolved: "Now that im older it makes sense why i could never bring myself to watch iCarly without getting incredibly uncomfy."

Schneider has previously faced allegations from former Nickelodeon stars for inappropriate behaviour and sexualisation of his show's younger stars.

However, the iCarly creator has argued the comedy in his shows is 'totally innocent'.

UNILAD has contacted Dan Schneider's representatives and Paramount, which owns Nickelodeon, for comment.
