Disney is set to release a mammoth slate of 13 films in 2026 in what fans have called a 'big year for movies'.
Let's be honest, 2025 was a pretty incredible year for movies, especially horror fans, who had the likes of Zach Cregger's Weapons, Ryan Coogler's Sinners and Michael Chaves' The Conjuring: Last Rites to get stuck into.
While Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash topped the box office charts, Disney's Lilo & Stitch, Universal's Jurassic World: Rebirth and Warner Bros' A Minecraft Movie also performed exceptionally well.
You might think it will be hard to top last year, but Disney is responsible for one of the most hotly-anticipated films in 2026; Avengers: Doomsday, which doesn't drop until December, sadly.

We also have Toy Story 5 and The Devil Wears Prada 2 on the horizon, as well as other exciting and somewhat unusual genres.

Away from Disney, other major releases include *takes breath* 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Dune: Part Three, Supergirl, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Scream 7.
Taking to X, people have commented on the major drops this year, with one proclaiming: "2026 is gonna be a big year for movies."
