American Horror Story fans are boycotting 12th season after Kim Kardashian joined the show

American Horror Story fans are boycotting 12th season after Kim Kardashian joined the show

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy says Kim will have a 'fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying' character.

American Horror Story has dropped a huge bombshell about its upcoming 12th season.

While fans of the long-running horror series have seen some wild things over the past 11 instalments, it seems like the mere presence of one reality star is enough for them to boycott the franchise altogether.

The show dropped a teaser on social media that AHS veteran Emma Roberts will be rejoining the show and there would be a newcomer in the cast list: none other than Kim Kardashian.

And it certainly was a shock to many fans to see the reality TV star-turned-businesswoman's name in the short clip.

However, you can have good shocks and bad shocks and if you check the comments section, it's certainly not positive.

Some have even said they will boycott the season simply due to Kim's involvement.

One viewer wrote: "Casting confirms this will be a season I skip," while another added: "Kim Kardashian starring? Wtf did I just read? That’s the most horrifying part of the entire AHS franchise."

A third said: "I will not support any Kardashian/Jenner business and this counts. I'm done."

A fourth quipped: "Really? Kim? Looks like I won’t be watching."

However, it wasn't all horrible.

Meet the latest star of American Horror Story...

A user said they were willing to give Kim a chance purely after seeing how good Lady Gaga was in the fifth season as Elizabeth Johnson.

Others were desperate to have other legendary AHS actors in the cast list like Evan Peters, Jessica Lange or Sarah Paulson.

Both Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian shared an Instagram video on their profiles confirming the casting news, which was set to the unsettling broken tune of 'Rock a-Bye Baby'.

They also both included incredibly vague captions, with Emma writing: "This summer…Kim and I are DELICATE", and Kardashian simply including an eye and blood drop emoji.

FX confirmed Kardashian's casting to Variety, but hasn't elaborated further on what the newest series will be about.

And The Hollywood Reporter also said that creator, Ryan Murphy, was apparently very impressed with the reality star's performance as a guest host on Saturday Night Live in 2021.

Emma Roberts has appeared in many seasons of AHS.

The pair reportedly then began discussing the possibility of Kardashian joining the AHS family last summer.

Murphy told the outlet: “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.

“Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

It will be very interesting to see how this one plays out.
