In seemingly an internet first, Twitch viewers are sick and tired of all the nudity on the platform which was primarily meant to be used to stream people playing games.

Sex certainly sells, and the gaming streaming platform Twitch has certainly seen its content creators realize this.

However, viewers seem to be getting close to their limit, or so they say.

Social media users have called for rule changes to the Amazon-owned platform as some feel the system is being pushed to its limits with streamers gaining popularity from ‘implied nudity’.

Earlier this month, the platform dealt with an incident involving streamer Morgpie who went viral for seemingly streaming topless. However, she later explained that she was in fact wearing clothes, despite the implication.

Following the video, she was banned, but days later Twitch changed its sexual content guidelines which allowed ‘artistic nudity’. But this would come to be short lived, and the changes were reverted after some streamers took this loose definition too far. Color me shocked.

Since then, the ante has been upped again as some streamers have begun recording but with black censor bars covering their intimate areas.

On X, some social media users have voiced their annoyance at some streamers leaning on the rules.

“I mean this is just insane Twitch,” said one user who shared a screenshot of multiple streamers using the black censor bars.

“Clothing should be visible at all times on Twitch. Seems like an obvious solution,” said another.

“My main issue is: isn't twitch for gaming? Why streams about other crap then video games, sincerely,” said another.

“Why not imply a rule to the TOS that both Vtubers and IRL streams need to always show that some type of clothing is being worn? That way, it’s the same for everyone?” added another X user.

“Twitch has an implied nudity issue that they are refusing to fix. Every update they have people just pushing the boundaries as far as they can,” said another.

Others remarked that Twitch was meant for kids and young people to enjoy games, so the increase in implied nudity was more than concerning as some of these streams are often featured on trending.

However, others were more critical of those donating to the streamers. They insisted these streamers would not continue to pop up on the platform if the tactic was not profitable.

UNILAD has contacted Twitch for comment.
