An Olympic athlete has found a new fanbase on social media for a pretty hilarious reason.

Henrik Christiansen is a Norwegian swimmer competing at this year's Olympic Games, but it isn't his sport that people have been talking about - but his love of chocolate muffins.

Some athletes haven't been overjoyed with the accommodation provided to in Paris, with Australian athlete Ariarne Titmus claiming that living in the Village 'makes it hard to perform' and that's why she didn't beat her previous world record.

But Henrik seems to be having the time of his life in Paris and has fallen in love with the Village's chocolate muffins.

The swimmer has hilariously been documenting his love affair with the chocolatey treat on TikTok, with his compilation of videos so far generating over 40 million views between them.

Reviewing the muffins, Henrik has given them 11/10 and labelled them as 'insane'.

He's also described them as 'the single greatest thing about the Olympic Village so far'.

Meanwhile Henrik's TikTok followers have hailed his content as 'the best story to come out of the Olympic Village', and his officially earned himself the title of the 'Muffin Man'.

"I love how Henrik's tiktok has quickly become a tribute page for the Paris 2024 Olympic Chocolate Muffin," someone said.

"At this point I know more about this muffin than I do the olympics," quipped another.

"I’m deeply invested in this love affair," a different person insisted.

With Henrik's apparent addiction to the Parisian muffins in mind, some have expressed concerns about the Olympian for when he goes back home.

"I’m genuinely worried for bro when he has to go back to Norway," someone said.

"Bro’s gonna have separation anxiety from the muffins when they leave," echoed a second.

Meanwhile someone else suggested his addiction was 'getting out of hand'.

Henrik replied to the comment: "Don’t you think i know that, OLIVIA?? I cannot stop."

"They need to share that chocolate muffin recipe for real," said one TikToker.

Seeing people's requests, the official Paris 2024 TikTok page has replied to one of Henrik's videos teasing that they might 'drop the recipe'. If not, the swimmer will be having a long distance relationship with his beloved chocolate muffins...
