While viral fame is something than many people dream of, it definitely comes with its downsides.

One person to have experienced this first hand is Haliey Welch, AKA Hawk Tuah girl.

Last month, a video emerged online where Haliey was asked about what move makes a man go crazy in the bedroom, and it's safe to say that no one was expecting her reply.

"You gotta' give him that hawk tuah and spit on that thing," she said, and thus the 'Hawk Tuah' girl was born.

The clip shared on Tim & Dee TV has since been viewed over five million times and Hailey has gone on to become a some-what national treasure.

While there are some perks that have some with her viral fame (such as joining Zach Bryan on stage), it hasn't all been good.

The 23-year-old recently chatted to Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O, where she discussed her online stardom affecting her day-to-day life.

"It's really strange, I can't really go in public by myself anymore," Haliey said. "I'm paranoid of getting kidnapped or something. I'm very paranoid about that."

She added: "I'm little too, so I can't really defend myself with big people or nothing like that."

Haliey also shared an encounter she had with someone in Walmart where a guy claimed that he knew her.

The viral star was also asked about how she explained her newfound fame to her family. Haliey lives in Belfast, Tennessee, with her grandparents.

Revealing how she clarified 'hawk tuah' to her grandma in particular, Haliey said: "I had to explain it to her three times before she got it."

    Awkward.

Meanwhile, the man she has collaborated to release her own line of hats with her infamous phrase on has received some very unusual requests about Hailey from fans.

"So, the guy that does my hats, he got offered $600 three days ago for me to spit in a jar and sell it," she divulged.

Haliey's also been asked numerous times about starting an OnlyFans page, with some people having asked her for pictures of her feet.

There have been some perks to Haliey's viral success however, one being that she's since been able to quit her 9-5 job.

She revealed in a video shared to her Instagram page: "I quit my job at the spring factory, and so I don't have to eat Taco Bell all the time - but I'm still going to do it anyways."
