A young couple's dream proposal was ruined by a 'nosy neighbour' on the beach.

Zenicca Llanza, 24, from the Philippines, took to TikTok to show the romantic set-up her then-boyfriend arranged as he was about to pop the all-important question.

However, things did not exactly go as planned. Watch the chaos unfold below:

Let's be honest, proposing in a public setting - like a beach - will always be a risky one.

But the unexpected happened during a recent proposal on a beach in the Philippines when it was tarnished by an incredibly rude - and almost unbelievable - encounter.

TikToker Zenicca shared a clip to the platform showing the beautiful set-up her boyfriend has organised, which included a tent with a cake, white table cloth and dozens of cushions alongside it.

The cake reads 'Will you marry me?' and there's also a sign in the background with the same words.

As Zenicca's now-fiancé gets down on one knee, an unnamed woman comes into the shot to put the sign, that had fell over, back up.

"How to quickly ruin a proposal," Zenicca wrote on TikTok.

A complete stranger decided to start interfering with the couple's special moment.

"Please be mindful of other people's once in a lifetime event! You never know you're already ruining it," she wrote.

Instead of walking away, the woman continues to interrupt the couple's special moment and even appears to ask to take a look at the ring while the couple are embracing.

People were understandably gobsmacked, with one saying: "You could excuse the first few seconds w good intentions but the rest I feel like we’re just really bad manners and not having any self awareness."

"Lmao she just kept getting closer but also I thought y'all were a random couple and he decided to use the setup."

"This made me physically ill I’m so sorry omg," added a third.

It seems as if public beaches really aren't the best locations for proposals and weddings.

Take an example from earlier this month, when footage of an unfortunate interruption was caught on camera by actor and director Cory - otherwise known as @coryatrandom - who watched on from above the beach as the entire scene unfolded.

Spot the odd one out.

The bride and groom - from Florida - looked like they had a gorgeous setup - white sands, blue seas and a beautiful makeshift altar where the groomsmen were waiting patiently for their bridesmaids.

Cory filmed as the bridesmaids began to make their way down the aisle, but before the bride herself had chance to fall into line he focused the camera on a woman who appeared alongside her, meandering alongside the wedding party before cutting in front of the bride to make her way to the beach.

There's tactless, and then there's that...
