A mom on TikTok has sparked debate after revealing that her family don't use paper toilet roll.

Instead, @jazminer17 and her family-of-six opt for 'reusable toilet roll', which is essentially a small towel, or washcloth.

Sharing a video of how it works, Jazmine took to her TikTok where she explained why they prefer to use towels over paper.

"We keep a basket on the back of the toilet... I prefer to have white so they're easier to bleach. A lot of people have asked if we use the same one, technically yes, but not at the same time," she said.

Jazmine explained that the small towels are kept above the toilet and go straight into a dirty bin once they've been used.

"It's not like it's really dirty what you're wiping, you bidet first and you pat dry and then it goes in the bin. It's really more common than you think and it's not dirty.

"People want to call it because they're not familiar with it."

Jazmine explained that they had been through their reusable toilet paper a lot quicker recently, due to having some fast food that 'didn't settle well', which led to the whole family fighting over the washcloths.

"They get washed in hot water, it's no different than using a towel after a shower because you're clean when you use these," she added.

Jazmine also pointed out a large towel sitting underneath the basket, which is especially reserved for if you're having 'tummy problems' and need more cloth.

Followers were divided on the reusable toilet paper, with many having questions.

Some people refused to consider trying it themselves, with one person commenting: "I don't think so. I will work extra for tp."

While another said: "The poor washing machine."

And a third added: "What do you learn? Never use towels when you’re guest at someone’s house."

Meanwhile, others said they found it to be more acceptable with the use of a bidet, too.

One said: "I don’t think this is dirty they use a bidet they wash and bleach the cloths and it’s safer for their plumbing line I don’t see what the issue is!"

And another wrote: "I was worried before you said bidet this is smart."

While a third added: "Using a bidet is so much cleaner than toilet paper. And at the OBGY they literally use the same small towels for everyone but they wash them. Something with hotels towels."
