A man who spent more than $100,000 and underwent multiple surgeries to make himself a few inches taller spoke out about his ordeal after his final procedure was complete.

We all get taller as we grow from children into adults, but once that process stops most of us tend to accept that our height is well and truly locked in for the rest of our lives.

That's mostly true, barring some shrinking that can go on as we get old, but there is a procedure available to those who are desperate to see the world from a slightly higher viewpoint.

Since he was about 16 years old, Chicago man Dynzell Sigers had been doing research into how he could get taller. He described his 5'6" height as his 'only insecurity', and in 2022 he decided to do something about it: get limb lengthening surgery.

In a 2023 interview with LADbible, Dynzell explained how the process works.

"The leg is surgically cut and there is a metal rod placed inside your leg that connects to the metal rod outside your leg," he said.

"Every day for 90 days you turn the key on the metal rod outside your leg which triggers the internal rod to lengthen, slowly stretching the bones and muscles.

"After you reach your desired height the external metal device is removed and the internal rod remains intact until the bone regrows then they remove it."

There's no denying it sounds like a horribly painful process, but Dynzell stuck with it through a second surgery in March 2023 before having the rods removed the following May.

After going through the whole ordeal, Dynzell successfully managed to increase his height to 6ft, at a cost of $107,416 (£85,641).

Following the final procedure, Dynzell shared an update with LADbible in which he revealed he'd found a lot of support from women after his story was shared online.

"A lot of women are DMing me, telling me how good I look and how good my new height looks on me," he said.

"One [woman] actually told me, she said, 'You like you just ooze confidence', like she said, 'Your smile and you just like, radiate confidence'.

"That's the first time I've ever heard that in my life, and I've always considered myself a confident guy, like always."

Dynzell has also shared updates of himself working out to help strengthen his legs in the aftermath of the surgery.
