Similar in concept to the likes of Uber Eats, food delivery service DoorDash pretty much lets you work whenever you want with no set hours and without needing to report to a supervisor.

The company is based in San Francisco, California and operates in Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Japan and of course in the United States.

For drivers, your total earnings are made up of three things:

  • Base pay (time, distance, desirability)
  • Promotions (peak pay, challenges)
  • Tips (drivers earn 100 percent of tips)

Base pay is DoorDash’s base contribution for each order and peak pay occurs during busy periods of the day.

As shown in the clip above, Tiana starts by explaining to her followers that she plans to start work at 6.30pm for one hour.

"Hey it's currently 6:30 I'm gonna DoorDash right now and let's see how much money we make," she says.

"First, order $8.75 picking up from some random restaurant that I don't know."

Tiana soon discovers that she's stood outside of the wrong restaurant and quickly made her way to the correct diner.

When picking up the order, Tiana said: "Just kidding I'm an idiot. This s**t smells amazing."

After delivery, the TikToker says she got tipped $7 from 'rich people' and was soon onto her next order.

"Next one is $9.25 it's from this place called Koi sounds fancy so let's do it," Tiana says.

"Definitely fancy also this feels like so light like it's probably just like one roll of sushi but you know who orders that? Rich people."

With the hopes of racking up some extra cash in her spare time, TikToker Tiana has shared the amount she made for an hour's work.

Tiana then realises that she's low on gas and that her hour is seemingly up.

She claims to have made $21 for one hour's work, however, after gas, that allegedly equates to '-$4'.

Commenting on the viral clip, one viewer thought: "I door dash too, and it takes me all day just to make a $100, there's no money in it."

Another added: "As a delivery driver myself one hour with door dash minus gas sounds about right."

"If they are closed or someone took the order, call the company and tell them and they will give you compensation!!! It’s usually $3 but better than nothing," a third wrote.

Meanwhile someone else suggested: "I’ve learned the first hour is just your gas money and I always dash for at least 3 or more hours."

UNILAD has contacted DoorDash for comment.
