Zendaya took to the stage at Coachella this weekend to perform with Labrinth, her first live performance in eight years.

You can see a snippet from that festival set in the video below.

Zendaya and Labrinth have worked together on a couple of songs from the smash hit HBO show Euphoria, which Zendaya stars in.

So, as the British performer and producer was ending his set in Coachella’s Mojave Tent on April 22, Zendaya appeared – much to the delight of the gathered crowd – for two songs, ‘I’m Tired’ and ‘All of Us’.

The American actor released her debut album back in 2013, then toured it until 2015.

However, since then she’s only performed at a number of award ceremonies, taking a lot of time out of her musical career.

Despite admitting that she ‘really loves it’ she released a statement last year saying she’d ‘stepped away from music quite a while ago for a variety of reasons’.

We aren’t sure what those reasons are, but they didn’t stop her from appearing on stage yesterday and – seemingly – really enjoying herself.

After the performance, she went onto Instagram and wrote a heartfelt thanks to her fans in the crowd, telling them: “I cannot express my gratitude enough for this magical night.

“Thank you for my brother Labrinth for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on stage again.

“And to the crowd tonight… wow. My heart is so full.

“I can’t thank you enough for the love I received tonight, made all my nerves melt away. I’m so grateful.”

Fans were equally as glad to see her back, with one overexcited person writing on Twitter:

“THIS IS NOT A DRILL ZENDAYA IS LITERALLY PERFORMING ALL FOR US WITH LABRINTH AT COACHELLA RN”

Zendaya wasn’t the only person to join Labrinth on stage for his set, with Sia also coming out with dancer Maddie Ziegler to perform ‘Thunderclouds’.

Of his collaborator, Labrinth said: “I f***in’ love this girl.

“When I first came to L.A I was depressed and f***ed up,

“When someone picks you up and supports you as a friend, you gotta hold them close.”

Last weekend at the first Coachella weekend, Labrinth was also joined by Billie Eilish, who performed new song ‘Never Felt So Alone’.

He’s not short of a celebrity collaborator, is he?

Zendaya hasn't performed live in years.

It’s a bit of a theme too.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl made a surprise appearance during Wet Leg’s set, and Bad Bunny appeared with Gorillaz.

However, one person who won’t appear is Frank Ocean after a leg injury ruled him out on doctor’s orders.

His headline slot will be filled by Blink-182, who enjoyed a triumphant return to the stage last week, playing their first show since reuniting with former member Tom DeLonge, and since Mark Hoppus was declared cancer free.

Then, Fred Again.., Four Tet, and Skrillex will play a back-to-back (to back?) set, carrying on from the success of their set at New York’s Madison Square Garden back in February.
