The View hosts call out Travis Kelce for ‘red flags’ after going public with Taylor Swift relationship

They worry he might be using her to boost his career

Taylor Swift fans have been closely following the blossoming relationship between the singer and Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, but hosts of The View worry about the athlete's 'red flags.'

Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce have been publicly dating since September — two months after Travis publicly pursued the 'Cruel Summer' singer via his New Heights podcast that he hosts alongside his brother and Eagles center Jason Kelce.

Following rumors about the pair dating, Taylor showed up to support the Chief's tight end at a game, officially hard-launching their relationship. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Following Taylor's six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, which the pair kept almost entirely private, fans of the singer are loving how public 'Traylor' are being.

However, it has left the hosts of The View a bit concerned.

Speaking on Tuesday's episode (November 21), Sunni Hostin started the discourse surrounding their relationship by mentioning an interview Travis recently gave to the Wall Street Journal.

In it, the 34-year-old was more than happy to spill the tea on himself and the pop superstar, teasing that he 'had somebody playing Cupid' who hooked the couple up.

He also revealed that once their relationship went public, he became uncharacteristically guarded with the media, saying: "That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don't say anything that would push Taylor away."

Sunni said: "Some of the things he said raised some red flags for me."

Mentioning Travis' comment about being scared of pushing the 'All Too Well' hitmaker away, she asked: "What is he hiding then? Because for me, I want to know the good, the bad and the ugly up front.

"He's sending in his representative so that he doesn't offend her in any way, that's not real life."

When Sunni's cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin comes to Travis' defence, giving him credit for pursuing Taylor, she replied, "Why though?"

The panel also spoke about how the incredibly public nature of the relationship could lead people to believe that Travis is using it to set up his post-NFL career.

Sarah Haines added: "The red flag for me was when he admitted to thinking about retirement. The quote was 'He thinks about it nonstop, more than anyone could ever imagine.'

"He is huge in the football world and then you go to 'Taylor Swift Land'," she continued. "And I think if you were thinking about next chapters, this would be lovely."

Alyssa agreed: "It is hard at [Taylor's] level of celebrity to find people with the right intentions. He seems like a very nice guy and I root for them but I do think she has to be careful of that."

UNILAD has reached out to Travis Kelce's representation for comment.
