The Queen once saved Snoop Dogg from being kicked out of the UK

Snoop Dogg claimed the Queen came to his defence when the UK tried to 'ban' him amid an ongoing murder trial

The Queen has touched the lives of many throughout her 70-year reign – including, believe it or not, rapper Snoop Dogg, who claims she once came to his ‘defence’.

Earlier this year, Snoop sat down with DJ Whoo Kid to talk about a time in the mid 90s when he was supposedly ‘banned’ from the UK by citizens concerned by his ongoing murder trial, having been charged with first-degree murder in 1993 for the shooting of Philip Woldermariam, a member of a rival gang – only to be acquitted three years later.

In the midst of the trial, Snoop travelled to the UK to perform, only to be met with hostile newspaper headlines.

Recalling the reaction he faced, Snoop told Whoo Kid: “They kicked me out, the UK!”

Quoting a Daily Star headline from the time, he added: “’Kick this evil b*****d out.’

“[…] That s**t is documented. They had a picture of my on the front, I had a handcuff on one of my hands – it's a picture I took. I had a handcuff on one of my hands, it was like one of them was on and the other was off. I had my hands up like this.”

Raising his right fist into the air to mimic the photo he was talking about, Snoop said: “And they didn’t like it. ‘Kick this evil b*****d out.’

“This was while I was fighting a murder case, over there [in the UK] doing shows.

“So the perception they had was this n***a [is involved in a] a murder case and he over here?”

The rapper went on: “But guess who came to my defence?”

After Whoo Kidd incorrectly guessed the ‘Prime Minister’, Snoop replied: “The Queen, n***a. The queen said, ‘This man has done nothing in our country. He can come.’ The queen, ni**a, bow down. When the queen speak, bow down.

“That’s Harry and William’s grandmother, ya dig? You think they weren’t there, saying, ‘Grandma, please let him in, Grandma. He’s OK. We love his music.’

“‘You know Harry, I’ll let him in for you. He’s not so bad after all and he’s quite cute.’ Yeah, let me in!'.

“Ya dig? Thank you Queen, I love you baby. The Queen, that’s my gal.”
