People spotted Taylor Swift's awkward reaction to Harry Styles being heckled by Beyoncé fans

The Shake It Off singer is no stranger to award show mishaps

Taylor Swift showed her solidarity with Harry Styles as his Grammy acceptance speech was heckled - with viewers suggesting she was having 'flashbacks' to the infamous Kanye West VMAs incident.

Styles was receiving the Grammy for Album of the Year when members of audience began shouting him down, as people yelled out 'Beyoncé was robbed!'.

Beyoncé was one of many artists that Styles had beaten to the punch. Adele, Bad Bunny and Lizzo had also been in running for the coveted award.

Styles, who won for his album Harry's House, was being audibly jeered as he spoke to the crowd.

One video uploaded to TikTok showed Swift, who dated Styles between 2012 and 2013, had remained standing in the audience while everybody else had sat down.

Seemingly, the 'Anti-Hero' singer was trying to remain a friendly face for Styles during his speech, and she seemed to be aware of the jeers from the crowd.

The footage, which has received more than five million views on TikTok, has led to many praising Swift for her show of support.

One user wrote: "Having one Taylor Swift standing for him outweighs a million hecklers", while another commented: "They might be exes but at least she's showing respect! Not like everyone else."

Many commenters drew parallels between Styles' hecklers and Swift's own experiences of being shouted down at an award show.

One TikTok commenter said: "Taylor was having flashbacks...", as another wrote: "In my opinion, Taylor stood up so he could see her because she knows what it's like to be verbally abused about how 'Beyoncé should have won' and lose your confidence."

These comments are in reference to the infamous incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, in which rapper Kanye West publicly slammed Swift on live TV.

The then-19-year-old Swift was receiving the VMA for Best Female Video, when West came onto the stage and took the microphone from her.

Making reference to the 'Crazy In Love' singer, who Swift had beaten in the category, West said: "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'ma let you finish. But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!"

Beyoncé's video 'Single Ladies' had missed out on the Video of the Year award, with Swift's 'You Belong With Me' receiving the honour.

The debacle resulted in a massive backlash towards West, as he was branded a

'jackass' by then-President Barack Obama.
