Taylor Swift apparently has a good reason she won't be performing at the NFL Super Bowl any time soon.
The annual NFL championship game is renowned for its star-studded halftime performance, with many of the world's most famous musicians having taken to the stage over the decades.
As one of the most widely watched broadcasts across the globe, viewers have been treated to jaw-dropping performances from the likes of Michael Jackson and Diana Ross in the 1990s to Paul McCartney, Prince, Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna in recent years which has only rocketed pop culture interest in the otherwise sporting event.
However, there's one huge superstar celebrity of the era that is notably missing from that list... Of course, we're talking about 14-time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift.

As her enormously successful Eras Tour showed the world, the 35-year-old singer is far from shy when it comes to taking on a packed-out stadium, making the dreams of a record-breaking 96,000 Swifties at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia come true in one night last year.
So, why not the NFL? After all, she can often be seen in the stands cheering on her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs' tight end, Travis Kelce, whom announced their engagement in summer this year.
Well, Swift has finally answered the question of the decade now that Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny has been confirmed for the show next February, much to President Trump's disapproval.

In an extended version of her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday (October 6), the 'Is It Over Now?' hitmaker revealed she's never actually been offered the chance - at least formally.
"Jay-Z has always been very good to me, our [business] teams are really close," she said, adding that Roc Nation, Jay-Z's company that coordinates Super Bowl acts, has reached out before.

"They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about... you know...'" Swift said hinting at the Super Bowl. "But that's not like an official offer or a conference-room conversation."

Fallon asked her if she had declined because the NFL wouldn't let her own the footage of her performance, since the star purchased the rights to all her music and content earlier this year, which she also denied.
"I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field," she said. "Like, [his sport] is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous.
"Throughout the whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be? I think we should do two verses of 'Shake It Up' into 'Blank Space' into 'Cruel Summer.' Would be great!’"

Kelce's team has won three Super Bowl wins, in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
However, she insisted her decision has 'nothing to do with' the football star, adding he would 'love for me to do it'.
"I'm just too locked in," Swift concluded.
Her comments also come as she told Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 that she wouldn't be retiring from music once she ties the knot with the 36-year-old, stating that the pair love and support each other's passions, which both sees them performing for three-and-a-half hours in massive stadiums.

"For him, it's practice. For me, it's rehearsal. For him, it's a game. For me, it's a show. We just call them different things," Swift added.
Meanwhile, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said the league would 'love' to have her perform, describing her as a 'special, special talent'.
"And obviously she would be welcome at any time," he added.
