Travis Kelce's ex offers advice on dating athletes and shares impact relationship had on her

Travis Kelce's ex Kayla Nicole has offered advice on what it's like to date an athlete.

Nicole, who used to be in a relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, has spoken out about the hardships of dating an athlete, but I'm not sure those worries will relate to the music icon.

The three-time Super Bowl winner broke things off with Nicole back in 2022 and a year later began dating Swift - and ever since it feels like you can't go a day without hearing about them, or seeing them at events like the tennis US Open Final.

Swift and Kelce are the hottest celebrity couple right now.

Since their split, Nicole has concentrated on herself and has revealed what she learned from dating Kelce, as she urged listeners of the Unapologetically Angel podcast to take caution when dating athletes.

Speaking to host Angel Reese, who plays for Chicago Sky in the WNBA, she said: "My biggest advice in dating an athlete is to always have your own.

"It is really easy to get caught up in their dream, their vision for their life. Something that I had to learn early on was that the relationship could be over tomorrow and what do you have? At the time it was a long-distance relationship, I was going back-and-forth.

"I was in-between apartments and thought 'it's cool, we're going to get married and I'm going to move into the house, I don't really need an apartment.'"

But that wasn't to be, adding: "We broke up, my lease was up, my lease on my car was up all at the same time."

"Thankfully we ended up getting back together but from that point moving forward I was like I don't care who I date, I'm going to always have my own place, my own car. Support their career my prioritize my own goals."

Their break up had a huge impact on the social media influencer, who explained how on top of the difficulties all couples face when splitting - no longer speaking to the person who you'd spoken to every day for however long, she also faced unwarranted hate online.

Nicole continued: "You could go to my most recent posts and people would be debating why I am worthless. It is nothing to do with me. I think there is something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, which is unfortunate because I don't think I have done anything to warrant that kind of backlash."
