Travis Barker roasted for playing drums in delivery room when Kourtney Kardashian was in labor

The Blink-182 drummer couldn't resist tapping out a new beat for his youngest child

Any Blink-182 fan will know that Travis Barker lives and breathes drums, but he took that passion to a whole new level when he started tapping out a beat while his wife was in labor.

It might sound like something out of a sitcom, but it's actually a real situation which took place when Kourtney Kardashian prepared to welcome her youngest child this month.

The celebrity couple have been open about their pregnancy since they announced the news earlier this year, and since then they've kept fans updated with pictures of the growing bump, the gender reveal and their baby shower.

Kardashian and Barker eventually welcomed their little boy, named Rocky Thirteen, just after Halloween, and while they've not shared a picture of him just yet, they're still keeping fans in the loop.

That latest update came in a post on Barker's Instagram Story last night (9 November), where the musician shared a video of himself banging out a beat on a thin drum while hospital machines worked away in the background of the video.

Though Kardashian wasn't featured, Barker indicated in his caption that she was just off camera, preoccupied with the not-so-small task of bringing a new life into the world.

Also sharing the video on TikTok, the drummer wrote: "Practicing to my babies [sic] heartbeat."

Since the parents have only just welcomed the child, it seems the video was filmed while Kardashian was in hospital giving birth.

Barker's talent is undeniable, but fans of the couple generally agreed that during labor wasn't the best time for him to show off his skills.

"Imagine being in the next room to this," one person wrote after watching the video, while another added: "I love Travis, but this would seriously test my patience."

"She’s a better woman than me," another TikTok user joked, referring to Kardashian.

A fourth commented: "the baby gon come out busting the electric guitar."

Though the drumbeat clearly isn't for everyone - and admittedly might have been a bit distracting for the doctors - Kardashian clearly didn't seem too annoyed at the music as she shared the video to her own Instagram page.

There were also some fans who didn't mind the drumming, maybe because it's the closest fans have come to seeing Rocky Thirteen yet.

"Didn’t expect anything less than Travis bringing drums to the delivery room," one excited fan commented, adding: "Hehe I love it! CONGRATULATIONS!!"

Hopefully it won't be long before the parents share their first glimpse of the child - even if it does come accompanied by a drumroll.
