It's not often you feel sorry for the bad guy, but Saw actor Tobin Bell had fans feeling positively heartbroken after he revealed nobody wanted to each lunch with him during production.

Bell went on to feature in a whole series of Saw movies spanning almost two decades, but it was in the very first instalment, released in 2004, that the actor had experienced his lonely lunches.

He reflected back on the experience in a video released on the official Saw account following the release of Saw X in 2023, when Bell gave fans a tour of the bathroom 'where it all began'.

Bell is known for playing the notorious Jigsaw killer in the horror franchise, and in the first movie his character traps his victims in a grotty bathroom to try and fight for their lives.

The actor reminisced about filming the first movie, which fans will know features Bell's character lying on the ground in a pool of blood for almost the entire time.

Bell recalled: "For most of that film, I lay right here on my face, with only a 357. Magnum in one hand, and a tape recorder in the other, and half of my head blown off.”

At the end of the movie - which you really should have seen by now - it's revealed that not only was the character alive the whole time, but he's also responsible for imprisoning the two men in the first place.

It's a twist which only paints Bell's character in an even more horrific light, but obviously that wasn't Bell's fault.

Unfortunately, however, the actor recalled how his character's gruesome makeup left him spending a lot of time alone, saying: “No one wanted to have lunch with me, on any day I would sit down, I was so ugly looking and covered with blood, so I would eat alone in my dressing room."

Bell's admission left fans devastated, with many responding to the Twitter video to share their love for the actor.

"Just remembered no one wanted to eat lunch with tobin during the first movie and started crying," one person wrote.

"MY F**KING HEART JUST GOT RIPPED OUT WDYM," said another.

A third wrote added: "This information has single handedly ruined my day this man deserves the WORLD."

Though Bell might not have had the best lunch breaks, he at least found success through the lengthy run of the series!
