Timothée Chalamet has added another award to his collection for his impressive performance in his latest film Marty Supreme and made a subtle hint to his girlfriend in his speech.

Timothée Chalamet was up against stiff competition at this year’s Golden Globes but was able to come away with a major win for his role in film Marty Supreme.

Loosely inspired by the table tennis pro Marty Reisman, the film landed in theaters on Christmas Day and sees Chalamet taking on a starring role, alongside Kevin O'Leary as Milton Rockwell, an entrepreneur who is married to Kay Stone (played by Gwyneth Paltrow).

In his acceptance speech, he made a sweet mention of his partner Kylie Jenner, similar to the one he made during his Critics Choice Award speech.

Before leaving the stage, he said: “My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up.

“Always be grateful for what you have. It has allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here but I would be lying if I didn’t say those moments didn’t make this one that much sweeter.

“For my parents, for my partner, I love you, thank you so much.”

As he left the stage, the Golden Globes cut to Jenner who was beaming and applauding along with the crowd.

People on X have remarked that the pair look particularly cute together, as videos of them interacting during the award ceremonies have started to pop up on social media.

One fan wrote: “Kylie seems so happy with Timothee it’s so cute to see.”

Another wrote: “timothee chalamet and kylie jenner at the golden globes !! they are the hottest hollywood couple.”

A third wrote: “timothee thanking his partner kylie again that’s my it couple hehe.”

With another user adding: “My night would not have been complete if Timothée Chalamet didn’t thsnk Kylie Jenner. 😂🤣😂 #GoldenGlobes.”

This mention of Jenner in this speech was considerably more reserved than his previous at the Critics Choice Awards.

After winning Best Actor at the awards, he said: "Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

This saw many people on social media admit that they were surprised they had not noticed the pair had been dating for so long.

How Golden Globes voting actually works

Voting at the Golden Globes is very different to other big awards such as the Oscars. It also underwent a major overhaul after a 2021 investigation triggered widespread backlash in the industry. Here's how it all works:

Who chooses the Golden Globes winners?

Voting for the Golden Globes is made up of a group of around 300 entertainment journalists from around the world, who decide the winners of each category.

This is different to awards like the Oscars, which are voted on by industry peers such as fellow actors, directors and writers.

How can you become a Golden Globes voter?

According to the Golden Globes website, to apply to become a voter, you must ‘be an experienced international entertainment journalist working for a recognised media organisation’.

Strict policies for voters

There are strict policies that come along with being a Golden Globes voter, which include adhering to a 'code of conduct, a conflict of interest policy, and a gift ban policy prohibiting the acceptance of any gifts or promotional items from any studio, network, streamer, agency, or publicist’.

Previous controversy

Voting for the Golden Globes used to be governed by the now-defunct Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), but reforms were made after a 2021 investigation highlighted allegations of financial corruption, voting integrity and a lack of diversity, specifically that there were no Black members within the HFPA.
