Sydney Sweeney breaks silence on rumors of affair with co-star Glen Powell

Sydney Sweeney has broken her silence on her alleged romance with Glen Powell.

Since the pair began working with each other on the upcoming romcom Anyone But You, rumours and gossip has surrounded their 'relationship'.

Photos of the pair together sparked the interest, with people speculating that there could be more to it than an innocent friendship.

But now, Sweeney has come out and given her side of the story.

In an interview with Variety, the 25-year-old was asked about the impact rumors like this have on her, and what she makes of all the coverage in the media about her and Powell.

For the Euphoria star, it's all part of being in show business.

“It’s a rom-com,” she told the outlet. “That’s what people want!

"Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.

"We’re excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, 'That’s really funny'."

Sweeney said she's more than happy to feed into the media narrative, if that's what people want.

“They want it,” she said. “It’s fun to give it to ’em."

Her comments come a few months after it was reported that Powell's former partner Gigi Paris apparently unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram.

Reports in Page Six back in April stated that Paris used to follow Sweeney on the site - the model having once commented on one of Sweeney's posts - but suddenly stopped.

Some social media users speculated at the time that Paris unfollowed Sweeney because of that rumor that she and Powell were not only romantically involved on screen, but in real life too.

This came after Sweeney posted pictures of her and her co-star, with a video also going viral of the pair.

The video showed the actors on a sofa, Powell supporting Sweeney's back as she performed a backbend - the pair both laughing at one another.

Sweeney also uploaded photographs to Instagram of them both on trips out.

"NEW SHIP," one Instagram user reacted.

Another wrote: "You and glen r literally the cutest."

"Already shipping Glydney(Glen&Sydney)," put a third.

Despite the rumors, though, not everyone was convinced of the alleged affair.

Dismissing the gossip, one user said: "This man has chemistry with EVERYONE."

While someone else added: "Marketing gimmick as old as time."
