Robert De Niro has admitted he doesn't do the 'heavy lifting' after becoming a parent for the seventh time at 80.

Speaking about fatherhood and his new film, the Killers of the Flower Moon star also revealed that parenthood was ‘different’ this time. Take a look below:

While most men his age would be retiring and taking up golf, De Niro welcomed his seventh child, Gia Virginia, just five months ago.

The veteran actor shares the little girl with his 45-year-old girlfriend Tiffany Chen, with the Goodfellas actor also having six other children from previous relationships.

First becoming a father in 1971, De Niro has divorced twice and is now dad to Drena, 52, Raphael, 46, twins Julian and Aaron, 27, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11.

Having dealt with dirty diapers in nearly every decade of his life, the actor is taking a more, um, relaxed approach to parenting this time around.

“It doesn’t get easier,” he explained to the Guardian, when asked about becoming a dad in his golden years.

The acting legend added: “It is what it is. It’s OK. I mean, I don’t do the heavy lifting. I’m there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is so important.”

It seems this even applied to announcing the birth of his little one, with the Raging Bull star sharing the update during an interview with ET Canada.

During the bombshell interview in May, the actor had been speaking about his upcoming movie My Father when the conversation turned to his own children.

He said: "I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But you just have no choice.

"And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t."

As the interviewer began the next question, they mentioned the actor’s six children, to which he interrupted with ‘seven actually’.

"I just had a baby," De Niro revealed nonchalantly, without giving any further detail about his new daughter.

The first photo and Gia’s name were later disclosed by Gayle King on CBS Mornings, as the presenter spoke about the actor and his girlfriend Chen.

Talk about relaxed parenting!
