Millie Bobby Brown reveals incredible reason why she carries a microchip scanner with her at all times

When it comes to what a celebrity - or even a regular person - carries about with them in their bags, you have a certain expectation of what necessary items are there.
Wallet? Check. Phone? Check. Some snacks in case you get hungry while out and about? Of course.
But what about a microchip scanner?
Well, that's what Millie Bobby Brown has with her in her bag, but before you start to come up with theories as to why, the actor has already explained it - and it's really sweet.

The Stranger Things star sat down with Vogue for their YouTube channel to discuss what was inside her Louis Vuitton bag.
Aside from the usual things, such as her phone, body mist and glasses, there's her microchip scanner.
You might be asking yourself why on earth a celebrity would carry that, but she’s an animal lover, and also runs an animal rescue shelter in her free time.
Explaining the significance of the scanner, Millie said: “Kind of random. But I carry a microchip scanner with me which scans dogs, scans their microchip numbers on their back.
“So, when I find stray dogs, stray cats, I check if they have a microchip. If they do, that's great because usually that means they have a home.
"If they don't have one, then I'm able to take them to the shelter, get them registered, and then take them to my rescue where I can microchip them, vaccinate them and get them into our facility so that we're able to find them a home.”
She shared that she started fostering dogs and 'had 20 dogs at a time' all from 'different situations' and realized that she should start a rescue shelter for her growing brood of animals.
Through this work at Joey's Friends Rescue, she has saved over 230 dogs so far, and carries out all of the work personally, if and when she can.
According to the rescue's website, their mission is to find their rescue dogs their 'perfect forever home'.
With such a sweet explanation, people couldn’t help but love her for it online.
Over on Reddit, fans were thrilled by her interview, as one person wrote: “Yeah, but this video is really underselling what she does. Her house is a licensed rescue facility with a full staff. They do medical examinations, vaccinations, and they rehome the rescued animals.
"She herself finds the strays through social media, and picks them up personally whenever she is available.”
A second said: “I love this! This is using your wealth correctly. well done Millie,” while another commented: “This is the type of rich person side quest I love to see.”
