Jennifer Lawrence ‘stole’ the show in X-rated movie with just one scene

Jennifer Lawrence had a pretty solid hit with this 2023 comedy

Jennifer Lawrence received heaps of praise for her performance in a raunchy 2023 comedy, especially for one particular scene.

The 35-year-old took a little break from acting after starring in the 2019 bomb that was Dark Phoenix.

Rather than return to the popular genre of superhero movies, in 2023 she went in a slightly different direction. It certainly turned some heads and likely got some people hot underneath the collar.

The film follows Lawrence as an Uber driver, called Maddie, who isn’t really living her best life.

To bring her unhappiness to a crescendo, she loses the most important thing for work, her car and decides to go down an unconventional avenue to get some cash.

Maddie agrees to take an offer to take a 19-year-old's virginity, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), after being offered money from his parents who want him to come out of his shell before he goes off to college.

The movie, titled No Hard Feelings, did spark some conversations and even some controversy for the premise.

Despite some initial criticism towards the age gap presented in the flick, No Hard Feelings was well-liked by fans and critics, with a score of 71 percent from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an 86 percent audience score.

As well as Lawrence and Feldman, the cast also features Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, Scott MacArthur, and Matthew Broderick, and a pre-The Bear breakout role for Ebon Moss-Bachrach - who filmed this shortly after the release of season one of the cooking show.

No Hard Feelings was originally released in June of 2023, though it's since widened its reach recently thanks to a release on Netflix in the US.

While the talk surrounding the movie was mostly around the, erm, nudity, many fans praised one particular scene which actually had nothing X-rated in it.

Midway through No Hard Feelings, Maddie and Percy agree to go on a date to make up for the proms they both skipped when back in high school.

As they are seated together in a posh restaurant, Maddie notices a piano in the centre of the dining room.

She quickly pressures Percy to go and play something for her.

He decides to play a slowed-down version of Daryl Hall and John Oates’ 'Maneater', a song that Percy had previously told Maddie used to scare him as a child.

When he returns to his seat after performing the track, a shocked Maddie tells him: "What the f***? That was unbelievable. How did you even know that song?"

And it's safe to say that viewers had a similar reaction to the scene, with many flocking to X to share their reactions.

"Maneater piano scene in no hard feelings >>> ," one person penned.

A second added: "You’ll probably hear a lot of chatter about THAT scene of Jennifer Lawrence on the beach, but THIS scene stole the movie for me. It’s pure cinema."

While a third remarked: "No Hard Feelings surprised the hell outta me. I loved it. And that piano cover of Maneater... perfect."
