Jamie Lee Curtis has made her thoughts clear on Jimmy Kimmel's TV show being suspended after he made comments about the death of Charlie Kirk.

Conservative activist Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10.

He was speaking at the institution as part of a Turning Point USA debate - a non-profit he founded that 'advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses'.

Kirk was addressing a crowd of 3,000 people when he was shot in the neck.

The 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, has since been charged with seven offences, including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.

Kirk's assassination has sparked major debate, especially due to his controversial opinion on gun laws.

Back in April 2023 during a TPUSA-Faith event in Salt Lake City, he said: "I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

Freakier Friday star Jamie Lee Curtis is among those who've weighed in on the incident.

In an interview with Marc Maron on his WTF podcast, published on Sunday (September 15), she said of Kirk: "I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith."

She continued: "Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he’s a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it."

Jimmy Kimmel also addressed Kirk's assassination via his long-running late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!

He played an unusual clip of Donald Trump - who considered Kirk a close ally - being asked how he was coping with his death outside the White House.

Trump replied: "I think very good," before diverting to talk about renovations at his Washington, D.C. residence.

Pointing to construction nearby, he boasted about a new White House ballroom: "It’ll be an absolutely magnificent structure."

This prompted Kimmel to quip: "He’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK?"

He later showed another clip of Trump, who again shifted focus to his ballroom plans when asked about Kirk’s killing.

The host concluded: "There’s something wrong with him, there really is. Who thinks like that? We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

This didn't go down too well, with Trump calling for Kimmel to be fired over the comments.

Sinclair - the nation’s largest ABC affiliate group - has since confirmed the show has been suspended 'indefinitely'.

Plenty of celebrities have weighed in on the saga, and so too has Curtis, following her previous podcast comments.

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a post from Rolling Stone.

It quotes an interview from April 2025, where Kimmel told the publication: "I don't think anybody should be canceled. I really don't."

Curtis simply reshared the post to her 6.4 million followers. She offered no further comment, letting the repost serve as her response to the show’s suspension.

Rolling Stone explained in its Instagram caption: "Back in April, Rolling Stone caught up with late-night stalwart @jimmykimmel about taking on Donald Trump.

"He seems like the kind of character that would flame out after a few years, but the fact that he’s still with us is remarkable. He also spoke at-length about patriotism, cancel culture, and more."

Affiliate giant Sinclair said that said Jimmy Kimmel Live! would remain off air until ABC addressed concerns over 'professionalism and accountability'.

The broadcaster also demanded Kimmel apologize directly to Kirk’s family and make a personal donation to them and Turning Point USA, stressing the show would not return until 'appropriate steps' were taken.
