Hunter Biden has cautiously explained the difference between crack and cocaine which has had everyone saying the same thing.
It's no secret the former POTUS' son has had his demons, having come out of the other side of a lengthy battle of addiction that led to him being convicted of a federal crime - the first child of a (then) sitting US leader.
The 55-year-old second son of Joe Biden had a rocky relationship with alcohol as a teen, which then spiralled into abusing cocaine as a college student. Family tragedies from the death of his mom and little sister in a car crash when he was just two, followed by the death of his brother Beau to brain cancer in 2015, only fueled his darkest days.
His 24-year-long marriage then broke down, with the divorce proceedings revealing Hunter indulged in drugs, alcohol, prostitutes and strip clubs.

Now, Hunter has spoken out about his battle in the first tell-all interview since his father pardoned him from being sentenced last year.
In the frank interview with Andrew Callaghan on Channel 5, Hunter was asked to explain the fundamental difference between crack and cocaine, and why crack is particularly addictive.
He said the 'only difference' is its components - sodium bicarbonate and water and heat.

"I don't want to tell people how to make crack cocaine," he continued, "but it literally is: a mayonnaise jar, cocaine and baking soda."
Despite the seemingly slight tweaks, Hunter said the two drugs are 'vastly different'.
"I feel really reluctant to kind of have some euphoric discussion - I know you're not asking me to do that - but have some euphoric discussion about crack cocaine. I don't want to have the experience of some euphoric recall, that's how powerful crack cocaine is."

While he said the drug doesn't make users 'act any differently' and is 'probably' safer than alcohol, he admitted it is 'really insidious' for three reasons: forming a habit, giving an oral fixation and combining it with a 'ritual', similar to smokers who enjoy a cigarette with their morning coffee.
"Crack is that on steroids," he continued. "It's over and over. There's a ritualized part of it. The combination of all of those addictive behaviors together becomes really powerful. And the drug in and of itself is a more immediate euphoric sensation connected to it."
Dozens have since commented on Hunter's interview, remarking he was brave to open up and discuss the topic as a recovering addict.
"It’s gonna be a lot of jokes surrounding this but I can’t help but feel a certain level of pride seeing how good Hunter looks here. Addiction truly is such an awful disease, I have tremendous amounts of respect for all those looking to get help/better," said one on Twitter.

Another added: "What ever you think about politics - that is words from someone who has thought deep about own addiction."
Last year, the young Biden pleaded guilty to having intentionally avoided paying $1.4m in income taxes between 2016 to 2019. He was also found guilty of being an illegal drug user in possession of a gun.
Hunter's sentencing was ultimately pardoned by his father who said he felt Hunter had been 'singled out only because he is my son.' The Democrat also said his son had been five years sober at that point.

Prior to getting clean, Hunter said in the peak of his addiction he was consuming 'a handle of vodka a day'.
He told Callaghan alcohol 'is the most destructive drug', stating: "It puts you in more danger than any other drug I've experienced. And then you add on top of that the amount of crack that I was using at the time and crack cocaine, in terms of your physical health is not as dangerous as the situation that you put yourself in to be able to obtain it."
