Guy Fieri has strict rule for children to follow if they want to receive his multi-million dollar inheritance

Fieri has told his boys they can expect to 'go broke' if they don't follow his rules

Guy Fieri is refusing to give his kids an easy ride in life.

The ex-restaurateur and TV presenter has put a set of strict rules for his boys to follow in order to inherit his multi-million dollar net worth or warned them they’ll ‘go broke'.

Fieri is a father to two sons Hunter, 27, and Ryder, 17, that he shares with wife Lori, as well as helping to raise his sister’s son, Morgan, 22, following her passing.

Fieri seems to be taking a page from Shaq’s book, who famously said when questioned about his kids inheriting his fortune ‘if they want this cheese, they got to get two degrees'.

Fieri seems to be in agreement when it comes to sharing his wealth with his sons, and ensuring all three take their education as far as possible before offering any money, telling Fox News: "Well, they have to get two degrees and then, you know, postgraduate.

“I told my boys, ‘None of this that we’ve been . . . that I’ve been building are you going to get unless you come and take it from me',” the celebrity chef explained.

“I’ve told them the same thing my dad told me,” he added. “My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m going to die broke, and you’re going to be paying for the funeral'.”

While his children are on track, the Food Network star’s youngest son, Ryder, isn’t too thrilled about embarking on the years-long journey.

“‘Dad, this is so unfair. I haven’t even gone to college yet, and you’re already pushing that I’ve got to get an MBA? Can I just get through college?’,” Fieri, 55, recalled the high school senior recently telling him.

In 2021, Fieri became the top paid chef on cable TV after a deal was made with Food Network.

As of 2023, Fieri is reportedly worth a sweet $70 million from his own show Guy’s Big Bite which ran for 10 years, as well as being a host on the popular show that made Fieri a household name, Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives – which still airs new episodes to this day.

As a staple fan-favourite and still going strong with viewers, Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives allegedly made more than $230 million in ad revenue back in 2020, according to data analytics firm Kantar.
