Fans defend Miranda Cosgrove after she revealed she's never been drunk

We love a sober queen.

Fans have been quick to defend Miranda Cosgrove after she admitted she’s never been drunk in her life.

While speaking to her former co-star Josh Peck on the Good Guys Podcast along with influencer Ben Soffer, the 30-year-actor was asked if she’s ever done anything ‘bad’.

"Like, do you drink? Do you do any of that?" Peck asked.

She replied: "I've never been drunk in my entire life.

"I truly don't have a good reason. I've never even been buzzed.

"I've sipped things before, but like two sips."

The iCarly star then revealed that she has never even smoked before and has only ever eaten a weed brownie, which led her to sleeping for 17 hours.

Despite there being many opportunities to drink being a young starlet in Hollywood, the actor explained why she decided to remain sober.

“I think it started off because I was always the designated driver when I went out with my friends, and I sort of liked taking on that role and got used to it and just kind of stuck with it forever,” she said.

However, she does plan to drink eventually. Organized fun - we love that.

“But yeah, I’m open to drinking. I’m still planning on it at some point… even though I’m 30,” Cosgrove said.

"I should’ve done it on my birthday, my 30th.”

Of course, the former Nickelodeon star’s revelation had many shook, as one person wrote on X: “She doesn’t know the beauty and peace of a drunk cig outside a bar.”

Another said: “Give her time, she just started learning how to use her curse words.”

While a third joked: “Carly has always been a miss goody two shoes.”

However, many were quick to defend the actor's sober lifestyle.

One person said: “W for her. You shouldn’t need to drink or smoke to enjoy life and I’m glad she never had to.”

Another noted: “What matters most is finding activities that bring joy without compromising personal values or wellbeing.”

A third commented: “C’mon sober queen!”

While another said: "The one child actor who got out alive."

Cosgrove might not know the magic of sipping on a G&T, but her body is thanking her right about now.
