A source has hit back at the rumors swirling online about the state of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's marriage.

Despite some people catapulting so hard back into work post-Christmas that they're already burnt out, others are clearly having a much more leisurely start to 2024 given they have the time and energy to speculate about Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's relationship.

The pair - who've been married since 2010 and are a Hollywood power couple - were spotted on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on 7 January, posing for pictures and a video of them doing so went viral.

Fans were convinced Krasinski was saying something 'shocking' to his wife.

The video in question was posted by CBS and shows the pair posing for pictures, standing close together, before Krasinski then says something to Blunt.

While no one was actually there to hear what was said, nor did the stars themselves publicly reveal what Krasinski uttered, it didn't take long for social media users to run rife speculating about what could've gone down between the pair.

Some people ended up convinced Krasinski said: "I can't wait to divorce."

And just like that, an X - formerly known as Twitter - storm began.

Oh, the joys of the internet.

Fans of the couple went into a frenzy online speculating about what they said to one another.

Fans of The Quiet Place stars flooded to X to add to the rumor mill.

One wrote: "I’ve watched this 500 times trying to convince myself he said something other than divorce."

"I can't wait to divorce" WHAT??????" A second added.

But, shockingly, it would seem those on the internet haven't quite got the right end of the stick.

Social media users speculated there were issues between the pair.

A source told US Weekly there are 'no issues' between the couple.

They added: "They are absolutely not talking about divorce. They think the rumors are funny and ridiculous."

And people - once again - are flooding to social media to respond to the news, many relieved the pair won't be breaking apart anytime soon.

An X user said: "They're one of my favourite couples. I'm routing for them and believe their statement 100 percent..."

"What about this makes people think they want divorce. What did they even say here," another added.

Well, a professional lip reader even spoke out prior the source's comment, saying the pair weren't even talking about their relationship.

Jeremy Freeman told The Mirror he believes Krasinski was actually telling Blunt: "They keep waiting for us."

As in the paparazzi on the red carpet and how best to navigate their way down - a much more reasonable explanation given where they were.
