Ellen DeGeneres probably went on to regret accusing Dakota Johnson of not inviting her to her 30th birthday party...
Back in 2019, the Materialists actress celebrated her milestone birthday with a star-studded bash, but there was one notable absence at the soirée — that being DeGeneres.
Not long after turning 30, Johnson went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she was grilled by the TV host about supposedly not being invited to her party.

DeGeneres said: "How was the party? I wasn't invited."
"Actually, no, that’s not the truth, Ellen, you were invited," Johnson insisted. "Last time I was on the show, last year, you gave me a bunch of sh*t about not inviting you, but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited."
DeGeneres then questioned who wouldn't want to be invited to a party, to which Johnson said she wasn't even sure that the veteran presenter even liked her.

She insisted that she did like the Fifty Shades of Grey star though, noting that she'd invited her on the talkshow several times.
Going back to her 30th birthday celebrations, Johnson doubled down that she did invite DeGeneres.
"But I did invite you, and you didn’t come," Johnson said.
After a back and forth with her producer, DeGeneres was informed she was out of town that week: "Oh yeah, I had that thing."

People have long been discussing the awkward interaction between the pair online, with one person saying that Johnson 'clowned' DeGeneres.
See the extremely awkward interaction here:
"Dakota really clowned Ellen at her own show," someone said previously.
"Throwback to when Dakota Johnson ended Ellen's career in her own TV show," quipped a different person on Twitter while sharing a clip of their interaction.

A different person said: "That interview was a masterclass in polite confrontation. Dakota calmly called out the lie while Ellen squirmed."
DeGeneres isn't the only host to be called out by Johnson, the Madame Web star once stopped Jimmy Fallon in his tracks too.
On this occasion Fallon asked the actress to recall a story he had heard about her, but didn't give Johnson the actual opportunity to explain it for herself.
She ended up saying to him: "Are you supposed to let people talk on this show?"

Fallon was floored by her hilarious reaction and put his face in his hands as the audience erupted into laughter.
You tell him, Dakota.
