
Diane Keaton's final social media post saw her pay heartwarming tribute before her death.
Keaton died on Saturday 11 October in California at the age of 79.
Speaking to People, a source claimed that her health had 'declined suddenly'.
Tributes have poured in for Keaton, whose illustrious career in acting spanned over five decades and saw her working alongside many other big names in the industry, as well as winning an Oscar for her performance in Annie Hall.

She had not posted on social media for some time, with her last post to Instagram going out some months before her passing.

In the post on 11 April, Keaton celebrated National Pet Day with a picture of her dog, a Golden Retriever called Reggie.
The heartwarming pictures showed a smiling Keaton with Reggie, as well as some pictures of the dog relaxing on a blanket.

The post was a partnership with home decor brand Hudson Grace. The company wrote in the caption: “Proof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton."
Keaton was a known dog lover, and previously said she had welcomed Reggie back in 2020.
She posted at the time: "THIS IS MY NEW DOG, REGGIE!!! IS SHE HALF HORSE OR HALF DOG? MAYBE SHE’S INSANE! I LOVE HER!"

Keaton's death saw tributes flood in, including from the many people she worked with over the years.
Taking to social media, Leonardo DiCaprio wrote: “Diane Keaton was one of a kind. Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself.
“A legend, and icon, and a truly kind human being. I had the honor of working with her at 18. She will be deeply missed.”

Kimberly Williams-Paisley played Keaton’s daughter in the Father of the Bride movies, and took to Instagram to pay tribute to the icon.
She wrote: “Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life.
“You are one of a kind, and it was thrilling to be in your orbit for a time. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and above all, your laughter.”
Director and producer Paul Feig wrote on X: “I was so honored to call Diane Keaton a friend. She was an amazingly kind and creative person who also just happened to be a Hollywood legend,” he wrote. “She has been taken from us far too soon. We will miss you, Diane.”

Keaton had many roles over the years, but her breakout role was as Kay Adams, the girlfriend and later wife of Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather.
