A costumer on Boy Meets World has detailed some of the problems Danielle Fishel faced regarding the show's questionable wardrobe selection back in its heyday.
The 44-year-old, who is now cancer-free after opening up on her battle with the disease, rose to fame playing Topanga Lawrence on the beloved sitcom.
While that run for seven years between 1993 and 2000, Fishel reprised her role in 2014 for Disney+'s reboot of the show, Girl Meets World.
Julie Yang Silver, a costumer on the original Boy Meets World in the 90s, appeared on the Pod Meets World podcast on Monday (March 2) and claimed there were 'heated discussions' over Fischel's wardrobe.

Yang Silver sat down with Will Friedle and Rider Strong on the podcast, while regular host Fishel was missing from Monday's episode.

"I related to her because she was a female and just a young teenager growing up," the costumer began. Friedle, who played Eric Matthews, then chimed in and stated: "I put on a bunch of weight towards the end [of the show]. Danielle put on a little bit of weight towards the end, but of course it was all about how she put on ‘so much’ weight."
The actor went on to say that Fishel was allowed to pick out her wedding dress for Topanga's wedding in the final season, but was unable to choose something 'sleeveless'.
Friedel explained: "She thinks that one of the reasons was because certain powers-that-be thought that she looked too heavy to show her arms bare."
Yang Silver agreed that such had taken place before going on to state why it had happened and explained how she was one of the people behind the scenes backing Fishel.
The costumer said: "The thing was, Danielle was not heavy. That’s what I was trying to explain to them. I was like, 'she’s still a size 2, I don’t know what you guys are talking about.'

"Danielle wasn’t very tall, so if you are bustier and you’re not very tall, you’re going to look larger. But she wasn’t. You guys saw her every single day. She was not large at all."
Ultimately, a shawl was put over Topanga's dress, with the costumer noting that they hoped no one brought weight concerns to Fishel.
However, Yang Silver reckons the actor did cotton on to it.
"But we really tried to hide that from her… Because she’s a teenager," she continued.
"That’s going to get in her head. That’s what Karen and I were both saying: She is a young woman, and that can do so much psychological damage, and it’s so not worth it. We were treading very, very lightly."
