Hollywood A-lister Ben Affleck has been praised for having a relatively 'normal' reaction to his son's interest in sneakers that cost $6,000.

With a whole catalogue of huge movies under his belt, a friendship circle including the likes of Matt Damon and Jason Momoa, and a net worth of $150 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, it's probably fair to assume that Affleck is familiar with some of the finer things in life.

Still, that doesn't mean his kids get whatever they want - as proven by a now-viral video in which the star can be seen trainer shopping with his 13-year-old son, Samuel, who he shares with Jennifer Garner.

In the clip, shared on the 'Got Sole' TikTok page, Affleck can be seen following his son as the teenager peruses a table full of sneakers at a huge sneaker convention in Los Angeles. While there, Samuel takes particular interest in a pair of Dior Air Force 1's - sneakers that are estimated to cost around $6,000.

Another man in the clip can be seen joking about how Affleck probably wasn't happy with the idea of spending $6,000 on shoes, to which the actor responded with a very down-to-Earth, wholesome 'dad' comment.

He responded: "That's a lot of lawns you gotta mow there."

Affleck also told his son that he only liked the shoes 'because they're expensive', but Samuel insisted it wasn't just about the price tag as he said: "No, they're tough! I've always said they look good."

Affleck's indication that Samuel has to work for his allowance and won't just be handed the things he wants has resonated with a lot of the actor's fans, with many taking to the TikTok comments' section to praise the star.

"Ben worth hundreds of millions and said no. make him earn it good dad," one person wrote.

Another added: "Gotta give props to ben man. He raised his kid well," while a third said: "Ben seems so normal."

Samuel is one of three kids Affleck shares with Garner, who he was married to for 10 years before they went their separate ways in 2015.

Together, the pair now co-parent Violet Anne, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, and Affleck has spoken candidly before about how the opinions of his children are all that matters to him.

In an interview with Good Morning America in December 2021, the dad said: "I will be long dead and someone will ask my kids, 'What was your dad like?' and that is when I will know what my life was worth."
