Amy Schumer has spoken out about claims that she deleted old Instagram photos because of weight loss.
The celebrity has made no secret about offering insights into her life in the past, and on 11 November, the 44-year-old went through Instagram and deleted her old posts 'for no reason'.
In the caption, she wrote: "I actually left my house tonight. Who’s proud? I’m feeling good and happy. Deleted my old pics for no reason!"
Speculation started after Schumer deleted the posts that she had done so because she has lost weight since her earlier posts on the social media platform.

However, Schumer has now hit back at those claims saying that she has always been proud of how she looks. In her response, she also opened up about her health struggles, including with endometriosis.

The actress wrote: "Hey media outlets I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight. That’s a narrative you created. I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.
"I have been working to be pain free and I finally am. My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal.
"I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son."
Schumer went on to add that social media is not a true depiction of anyone, and that it will inevitably be a curated version of someone's life.
She wrote: "But your Instagram is not your identity it’s a curation of what you want the world to see and I feel great strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that. I didn’t purposely go on a 'weight loss journey' that’s a fine thing to go on."

The comedian also said that she thinks her weight will 'always fluctuate', but she is more worried about focussing on her health.
"But my focus has been on health," she wrote. "I’m sure my weight will always fluctuate. I’m a perimenopausal woman on hrt meds."
She concluded: "Wishing you strength and self love on whatever path you’re on as long as it’s kind and respectful to all people. No matter their weight race or religion peace!"
Schumer has been an advocate for talking openly about women's health.
In a post which has since been deleted, she said: "I want so much for women to love themselves and be relentless when fighting for their own health in a system that usually doesn't believe them."
