Megan Thee Stallion has reacted to The Rock saying that he wants to be her pet – and it appeared an astonished Megan felt a little starstruck.

The Rock made the comments while promoting his new film DC League of Super-Pets, which is stars in alongside Keven Hart and Keanu Reeves.

The animated superhero film sees the characters from DC comics fighting crime alongside their super-pets.

It was while Megan was promoting her new album Traumazine on American radio station SiriusXM that the presenter highlighted the comment to her.

In a YouTube clip of her appearance on the show, viewers can see Megan carefully putting on her headphones to listen.

In the clip the interviewer can be heard asking Dwayne Johnson: “What celebrity would you want to be a pet to?”

To which he replied “Megan Thee Stallion.”

When asked why, The Rock went on to say: “Where do I start?”

As the clip ends, the SiriusXM presenters laugh and Megan says: “That’s kind of legendary, I’m kind of epic,” before bursting out laughing.

She went on to add: “I used to watch wrestling all the time. Being from Houston and watching The Rock and [seeing] how famous he is and how much of a megastar he is, and he wants to be my pet? I mean, period! We made it! We might be a little famous.”

While it appeared it was the first time Megan had heard the clip, TMZ reported that her mild reaction may have been down to her boyfriend Pardison Fontaine getting riled up over the comment earlier in the week.

In a since-deleted comment under a repost of the interview, Pardison claimed: “all our dogs named after #s", before adding that The Rock should teach his wife how to use food seasoning.

After receiving some negative remarks, he later deleted his comment and admitted that perhaps his comment was in 'poor taste'.

Meanwhile, Megan's new album Traumazine has been getting rave reviews, with many liking that she has decided to show a more vulnerable side and open up about some of the obstacles that have stood in her way.

The singer told Rolling Stone magazine: “I want to take you through so many different emotions.

“At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.”
