Kim Kardashian says she’s taking acting lessons ahead of her role in American Horror Story

She says she likes a challenge and will have to step up if she's to be starring alongside Emma Roberts.

Kim Kardashian is making sure she is ready when she hits the American Horror Story set.

She's been in front of the cameras for years, however she will have to rehearse her lines and deliver a believable performance in the latest season of the long-running TV show.

Fans were not happy in the slightest when Kim was revealed to be joining the programme's 12th season.

Some even said they would boycott the upcoming instalment because they are against the idea of a reality TV star being given a big role.

An American Horror Story star also hit out at the casting decision.

Patti LuPone, who appeared in the show's third season as Joan Ramsey, told Andy Cohen on What Happens Next Live that she feels Kardashian has taken the role from a proper actor.

In one particularly pointed moment, she made a dig at Kardashian as she quoted a Noel Coward play.

“Excuse, excuse me Kim…what are you doing with your life?” the 74-year-old quipped, adding: “Don’t get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington.”

However, it seems like Kim could step up to the challenge when the director yells 'action'.

She revealed at the 2023 Met Gala that she's been digging deep to give an authentic performance.

"We start shooting my stuff at the end of this month," she revealed to Variety. "But production has already started and I’m so excited.

"It’s really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow. I’m so excited for the experience.”

She was asked if she was taking acting lessons and she replied with: “I am, of course. It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself.”

Kim certainly has the backing of the creator of American Horror Story.

The Hollywood Reporter said Ryan Murphy was apparently very impressed with the reality star's performance as a guest host on Saturday Night Live in 2021.

He told the outlet: “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.

“Emma [Roberts] and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture.

"Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

American Horror Story: Delicate will also star Emma Roberts, Matt Czuchry, Cara Delevingne, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, MJ Rodriguez and Odessa A’zion.
