Johnny Depp's Art Collection Sells Out In Hours Making Him Huge Amount Of Money

Johnny Depp's art collection sold out in just a few hours.

Johnny Depp's debut art collection sold out in just a few hours, and has earned him a pretty penny.

Depp is slated to have made around £3 million from the sale, through Castle Fine Art's 37 galleries.

The Friends and Heroes collection consisted of 780 prints, which depict artists and icons the actor has long admired.

Depp announced the sale on Instagram, taking a picture alongside the four prints up for grabs.

He captioned the post: "NOW AT #CASTLEFINEART Link in bio @castlegalleries."

It was a moment that clearly meant a lot to the actor-turned-musician-turned-artist, and speaking about his collection he said: "I’ve always used art to express my feelings and to reflect on those who matter most to me, like my family, friends, and people I admire."

Framed prints were sold for £3,950, with four together going for £14,950.

Still, for Depp it meant a lot to release the artwork, as he went on to note that the 'paintings surround my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves,' and as such he's released his creations to the public.

The gallery detailed Depp's inspiration behind the collection: "For Johnny Depp there has always been art. Before acting, and before music, art has always been an important outlet for his creativity. While his acting repertoire is the foundation for his fame, the recent reception to his music with Jeff Beck has encouraged him, and emboldened him, to share his art."

The collection includes a host of famous faces and 'each image is an intimate reflection of their character in Johnny's eyes; a portrayal of how they have revealed themselves to him'. The description adds: "From his dear friend Keith Richards, who inspired the mannerisms of the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, to Bob Dylan, whose creative influence on the artist is seen in his vivid and immortal portrayal by Johnny."

The collection went out to rave reviews, with people quickly commenting on the Pirates of the Caribbean star's work: "So beautiful. I am very happy that you decided to share your work. You are really talented."

Another echoed those sentiments and said: "LOVE them - well done... Liz Taylor and Keith Richards are sublime."

While a third added: "Oh wow! Incredibly beautiful! This man is soooo talented!"

Since his win in the defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp has also been touring and releasing music with fellow musician Jeff Beck.
