Johnny Depp Says Never In His Life Has He Committed Sexual Battery Or Physical Abuse

The Pirates of The Caribbean star is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation

Johnny Depp says he has never committed any sexual battery or physical abuse against anyone. Listen below:

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is currently giving evidence against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, who he took to court for defamation.

In 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed, in which she described being a survivor of domestic abuse.

Depp has claimed that while he was not identified in the article by name, it had huge consequences for his career, causing him to lose vast amounts of money.

The 58-year-old is now suing his ex for $50 million, and she is in turn making a counterclaim of $100 million.

Depp returned to the stand this week to give further evidence regarding his relationship with Heard, 36, and he told the court that he has never been abusive to anyone.

Depp says he has 'never' abused anyone.

"No human being is perfect, certainly not, but I have never in my life committed sexual battery, physical abuse, all these outlandish, outrageous stories of me committing these things," he said.

"And living with it for six years, and waiting to be able to bring the truth out. So this is not easy for any of us, I know that, but no matter what happens, I did get here and I did tell the truth, and I have spoken up for what I've been carrying on my back."

Earlier today (25 May), Depp also discussed injuries he allegedly sustained during his honeymoon with Heard in 2015.

A photo of the pair onboard the Orient Express shows Depp with what appears to be a bruise on his face.

He said: "I had a sort of shiner, but it all ended and everything got fine again. We'd go to dinner."

When asked how it happened, Depp replied: "Miss Heard hit me."

This is contrary to the explanation Heard gave for the apparent injuries. During her testimony, Heard said the picture was photoshopped and that it was actually her who was abused.

Referring to the photo of Depp's injury, his lawyer, Camille Vasquez, told her: "This is the only photo from your honeymoon that shows someone injured."

Heard replied: "The train trip itself was peaceful up until Johnny would start drinking brown alcohol. He'd already started drinking champagne when he wrapped on Pirates 5.

"I wasn't ready to accept we'd gone back to a pattern at all. On the last night on the train after this was taken Johnny and I got into argument about him wanting me to agree to him drinking liquor. An argument followed in our sleeping car.

"Johnny slapped me across the face and got a hold of my neck and pushed me up against the wall of the car. It was a small narrow sleeper car."
