Jennifer Lawrence says she felt 'gangbanged by the planet' after having nudes leaked

The Hunger Games actor described the leak as 'unbelievably violating'

Jennifer Lawrence once described the traumatic experience of having her nudes leaked as being 'gangbanged by the planet'.

Living in a world where everyone and anyone has quick access to their favorite celebrities, Jennifer Lawrence's leaked nudes scandal came as a big blow to her and, of course, her dignity and privacy.

To refresh your memory, the celebrity scandal - which was nicknamed 'The Fappening' - took place in 2014 in which 100 people and a few high-profile celebrities' iCloud accounts were infiltrated by hackers.

It saw a mass leak of intimate and private photos of celebrities which were uploaded on the internet every hour of the day.

Amongst the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton and Cara Delevingne was Lawrence, who has since claimed that the scandal is going to 'traumatise her for the rest of her life'.

Her nude photos - which were meant for then-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult - were leaked and dispersed all over the net.

The Hunger Games actor couldn't come to terms to process that her fans would be able to access her explicit photos while casually sitting in a pub or 'enjoying a barbecue with their friends'.

Having said that, she also recalled how a woman who had also been a victim of the scandal reached out to her with a desire to sue Apple, but instead, decided to focus on 'healing' herself rather than spending months and years in court.

"A lot of women were affected, and a lot of them reached out to me about suing and none of that was gonna really bring me peace, none of that was gonna bring my nude body back to me and Nic, the person that they were intended for,” she said while speaking on an episode of The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast.

“It wasn’t gonna bring any of that back. So I wasn’t interested in suing everybody; I was just interested in healing.”

The Silver Linings Playbook actor also voiced her frustration during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, recalling how she is 'still processing' the 'pain and embarrassment' the nude photo hack had caused her.

Lawrence explained: "When the hacking thing happened, it was so unbelievably violating that you can’t even put it into words.

"I think that I’m still actually processing it. When I first found out it was happening, my security reached out to me."

She's still experiencing tremendous stress even after years have passed since the traumatic event, which left her feeling 'gang-banged by the f**king planet'.

"It was happening minute-to-minute – it was almost like a ransom situation where they were releasing new ones every hour or so. And, I don’t know, I feel like I got gang-banged by the f**king planet.”

In the wake of the nude leaked scandal, Ryan Collins - a 36-year-old hacker from Lancaster, Pennsylvania - was caught and served an 18-month sentence in federal prison in 2016.

He pleaded guilty to federal hacking charges and admitted to a two-year phishing scam to gain the passwords of more than 100 people including high-profile celebrities.
