Grimes shares post-surgery photo and says she's done 'something crazy'

Canadian singer Grimes has shared a photo to her fans after undergoing a mystery cosmetic procedure.

Grimes, 34, is leaving the internet speculating over what surgery she recently received - with many fans believing it to be something to do with her ears.

Grimes has never been one to shy away from all things weird and wonderful.

Regularly taking album, outfit and makeup inspiration from the world of fantasy - it's no wonder that fans are speculating that the 'Genesis' singer has taken her latest body modification that one step further.

Taking to Twitter last Saturday (17 September), Grimes - born Claire Elise Boucher - posted a snap of her bandaged face with the caption: "I did smthn crazy!"

The tweet has since received 32.2k likes, over 3.9k comments and hundreds of retweets.

Many fans were convinced Grimes had gotten 'elf ears' after she'd previously described that as a 'quest' of hers.

Dozens wanted to share their support for Grimes' latest update, with one Twitter user writing: "I'm ready for Grimes' elf ears era!"

"Grimes' elf ears making everything a little more OK," a second added.

A third wrote: "Grimes got elf ears and I'm kinda jealous..."

While the singer has previously worn or edited elf ears onto herself, it has not yet been confirmed what the actual procedure Grimes had was.

In the photo posted to Twitter, the 34-year-old also appears to be wearing a hospital-issued blue gown.

The tweet in question came moments before Grimes mentioned spending time at a 'plastic surgery clinic' which definitely fuelled the fire for fan speculation.

She tweeted on the same day: "Album is done we’re mixing. My friend and I. perfected the last song in the plastic surgery clinic cuz they wouldn’t let me leave and we were laughing that this was the most Hollywood moment of all time. I have 20 songs so maybe BOOK 1 and BOOK 2? Deciding format/ tracklist."

The news follows accusations of the Canadian singer allegedly throwing a snowball at the late Queen Elizabeth II.

In a Twitter thread, Grimes revealed: "Once the queen was gna drive past my high school on a snow day, and all day the teachers threatened us no snow balls. 

"As she drove past it was dead silent, all teachers high alert. And just as the procession was almost past a single snowball arced from the crowd & hit her car."

She continued: "Entire crowd erupted into insanity. I was wrongfully accused and had to spend many hours in interrogations, still to this day the culprit remains unknown. But it was glorious."
