Ezra Miller has released a statement apologising for their recent erratic behaviour.

The Flash star has attracted headlines for a string of alleged incidents that have called into question their future in the superhero franchise.

The actor, who uses they/them pronouns, has admitted their mental health is fragile at the moment and wants people to know they are sorry.

"Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and

have begun ongoing treatment," they said in a statement sent to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior.

"I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life."

Rolling Stone reports Miller was recently charged with felony burglary and has also become entangled with the Vermont child services department, who are searching for a mother and three children, who were reportedly living at Miller’s farm in the state.

They were also accused of assault in Hawaii.

The apology comes a few days after it was rumoured that Warner Bros. had three options available when it came to Miller's upcoming film The Flash.

The Hollywood Reporter suggested the first option was getting Miller professional help after returning home to Vermont.

Miller would then do a damage limitation interview to explain their outlandish behaviour and would only be used sparingly to promote the film, the report says.

It is understood that the second option would see Warners release the film, even if Miller does not receive help.

However, the actor would not have any major role in the marketing or publicity of the movie, and would not play The Flash going forward either.

However, if the current situation worsened, Warners could stop the movie completely and reshoot it using a different actor.

This would be if Miller’s condition deteriorates further.

The 29-year-old is used across almost every scene in the film, playing a number of characters, and would see Warners lose $200 million if they decided to scrap the film entirely – a decision which they would no doubt want to avoid.

However, now that they have released an apology it seems like the actor is addressing their past behaviour and is looking after themself.
