Ezra Miller will not do any press for The Flash, instead only making a short appearance for photos rather than doing any interviews, reports suggest. Here's the trailer for the upcoming action film:

The film is set to come out on June 16, but the build-up to that release date hasn’t exactly gone how you might imagine for a big-budget comic book movie.

For example, during the build-up to any Avengers movie, you wouldn’t be able to turn your head without seeing an interview with one of the stars that make up the ensemble cast.

Harrison Ford is currently out talking to just about every publication who will listen about the forthcoming – and final – Indiana Jones flick, and he’s in his 80s.

But, this huge DC Extended Universe movie is going to be a bit different.

Miller, who stars as the titular speed merchant, won’t be talking to the press, instead just appearing for some photos.

The premiere will be attended by other stars of the film, such as Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, and Michael Shannon.

Jason Momoa and Michael Keaton won’t be there, however.

Not for any reason other than that they’re filming other films in other locations around the world.

Director Andy Muschietti will be there, though.

Speaking to Variety, a source said: “Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra,

“They are focused on their mental health and don’t want it to be transactional.”

Instead, Warner Bros has been throwing its considerable weight behind an advertising campaign, instead of hanging the promotion for the film on the controversial star, who has been experiencing ‘complex mental health issues’, but has also been involved in a number of controversies such as arrests.

Miller has been out of the spotlight and out of trouble since last year, following a ‘time of intense crisis’.

This approach to promoting the film doesn’t seem to be harming it, with the film predicted to be a success.

The premiere will be only days before opening, but that’s more to do with the film’s secret ending than Miller.

Versions that have been shown so far have been edited and blurred, although more screenings are planned in the hope that word-of-mouth will add to the film’s appeal.

Miller won't be doing any press interviews to promote the big-budget DC film.
    Warner Bros

As for Miller’s potential to appear in a sequel, their director has said that he doesn’t want to recast the character.

A sequel script is reportedly already written, but Muschietti said he doesn’t want anyone else.

“If [a sequel] happens, yes,” he said.

“I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did.

“The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. It feels like a character that was made for them.”

The Flash is scheduled for release on June 16.

UNILAD has contacted representatives for Ezra Miller and Warner Bros for a comment.
