Grimes says Elon Musk thought she was a figment of his imagination

"She told me repeatedly that Musk has this theory of her that she’s not real"

Elon Musk believed that Grimes was an imaginary person that he had created in his mind to be his 'perfect girlfriend.'

It's no secret that the Tesla founder has a remarkable brain, but there's no way he pulled this one off.

Elon and Grimes have been dating on and off since 2018, during which they've welcomed two children together; their son XÆA-Xii, two, and Exa Dark Sideræl, 10 months.

Despite what looks like an incredibly complicated relationship from the outside, Grimes has maintained that the billionaire is her 'best friend and the love of my life'.

That might be why Elon seems to think that Grimes, who is 17 years his junior, is nothing more than a simulation that his brain has somehow created as the 'perfect companion' for him - and she even agrees with his theory.

In new BBC documentary The Elon Musk Show, Vanity Fair journalist Devin Gordon spoke about Elon and Grimes' relationship after having interviewing the Canadian singer earlier this year.

It was in Devin's article that Grimes accidentally revealed she and Elon had welcomed a second child together, and shared some details about their 'fluid' relationship.

In the documentary, Devin revealed that Grimes had told her about a theory that Elon Musk had about her.

"She told me repeatedly that Musk has this theory of her that she’s not real, that she’s a simulation who was created by him and exists in his cerebral cortex as sort of the perfect companion to him", he recalled.

“Which sounds a little crazy and maybe even a little creepy, except, she agrees with it. She said she does feel like this simulation which was perfectly created for him."

In the Vanity Fair interview with Devin, Grimes said: "“We keep having this conversation where E’s like, ‘Are you real? Or are we living in my memory, and you’re like a synthesised companion that was created to be my companion here?’ ... “The degree to which I feel engineered to have been this, like, perfect companion is crazy.”

Elon certainly thinks a lot of his brain.

And, elsewhere in the three-part documentary, Devin explained how Elon and Grimes first connected over a 'nerdy joke' on Twitter back in 2018, just after he had split from Amber Heard.

"They both made a similar nerdy joke about a scary AI theory of the future called Roko’s Basilisk, which I don’t really even get", he said.

“And her interests are all the same as his and her music is very technologically oriented."

After that interaction, it wasn't long before Elon fell head over heels for Grimes and the rest, as they say, is history.

Just a few weeks before the documentary aired, Grimes came under fire for claiming that she wouldn't have been able to afford a house if not for Elon.

Though, if she really is a figment of Elon's imagination, I can understand how she might have had trouble.
