Desiigner has been charged with one federal count of indecent exposure on an aircraft.

Authorities claim the rapper - who's real name is Sidney Royel Selby III - allegedly masturbated on a flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis.

The criminal complaint, obtained by AP, suggests that airplane staff noticed Desiigner 'exposing himself' about 60 to 90 minutes into the Delta flight on 17 April.

While sat in first class, two flight attendants spotted him allegedly masturbating a number of times.

The lead flight attendant then came to Desiigner's seat and informed the rapper that he was going to be arrested.

After Desiigner allegedly exposed himself again, he was moved to the back of the plane where security were monitoring him.

According to the complaint, the rapper said he was 'bugging' and had 'messed up'.

The misdemeanour is punishable by no more than 90 days of imprisonment and up to a $500 fine.

When questioned by the FBI, Desiigner allegedly said he 'didn’t get much' in Japan and found one of the flight attendants attractive so he exposed himself.

Desiigner has since apologised for the incident and is 'ashamed' of his 'actions that happened on that plane'.

The rapper has announced that he will be 'admitting my self in a facility'.

"For the past few months I have not been ok, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on," he wrote on social media.

"While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly.

"They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home.

"I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane.

"I landed back to the states, and am admitting my self in a facility to help me.

"I will be cancelling all of my shows and any obligations until further notice.

"Mental health is real guys, please pray for me.

"If your not feeling like yourself please get help."

UNILAD has contacted Delta and Desiigner's representatives for comment.

Last year, Desiigner threatened to 'quit rap' after hearing of the tragic death of his friend Takeoff.

The Migos member was shot dead at 810 Billiards & Bowling, in Houston last November.

Amid the news, Desiigner uploaded a video of himself crying on social media.

He can be heard shouting: "Why, why, why do we do this? Why do we do this?"

Journalist, Jemele Hill, commented: "I was in college when Biggie and ‘Pac were killed and thought there was no way we’d ever experience anything remotely close to that again.

"Now it’s happening so frequently that you barely have time to recover before someone else killed. RIP Takeoff."
